The Impact of Social Media on Academic Performance Among College Students
Social media has become an important part of students' daily lives. Platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X allow students to communicate, share information, and access educational content. However, excessive use of social media may also affect students' concentration, study habits, and academic performance. This research paper examines the relationship between social media usage and academic performance among college students. The study uses a hypothetical survey of 100 college students to investigate the amount of time students spend on social media and its possible effects on their studies. The findings suggest that moderate and purposeful use of social media can provide educational benefits, while excessive and distracting use may negatively affect academic performance.
